Catholic Hipster Handbook Sneak Peak: Standing Out in a Crowd

Welcome to the latest in a long line of Catholic Hipster Handbook sneak peak's to help get you excited for the upcoming September 22 launch!

Today we're previewing an awesome contribution from Arleen Spenceley on Standing out in a Crowd (of Mostly Protestants):

"During my second week as a student at a private school, my teacher stood in front of the chalk board, behind a podium, with a straight face and a noble mission: to ensure the eternal salvation of her entire fth grade class.
I sat with wide eyes and probably folded hands as she made a bold declaration: 'It’s a lot easier for Protestants to get to heaven than it is for Catholics.'"

If that doesn't getting you interested in hearing more, I don't know what will!

Arleen learned the importance of being willing to stand up and stand out for her faith through this experience:

"My dad, who quite conveniently was then a catechumen in our parish’s RCIA program, broke out the big guns: the Bible, the Catechism, and an impressive collection of Scott Hahn cas- sette tapes. It marked the start of a season of my childhood in which I dug, out of necessity, into what the Catholic Church actually teaches.
This would change my life."

If you want to hear more about just how her life changed from this experience, you've got to order the book!
