The 2017 #CatholicHipsterBookAwards

Welcome to our 2017 Catholic Hipster Book Awards!

We're so excited to hand out this latest hipster award!

In 2016, My Badass Book of Saints by Maria Johnson took home the crown, following up the 2015 victory of Chastity is for Lovers by our pal Arleen Spenceley.

Who is going to take home the crown this time around?

Here are this year's four nominees:

1. Why I Am Catholic (And You Should Be Too) by Brandon Vogt

Brandon has made it back on our list once again, and we couldn't be happier. This book gets stellar reviews from a huge grip of Catholic giants, and if you haven't already put it on your reading list, you most definitely should.

When this book dropped, everyone was talking about it. An intimate portrayal of the incredible co-founder of the Catholic Worker movement, from the perspective of her granddaughter. It's flat out epic, and it brought Dorothy once again into the minds of the mainstream culture. Check it out!

3. Why We're Catholic by Trent Horn

Another book about why people are Catholic and other people should be, Trent Horn of Catholic Answers brings the arguments in favor of the faith in this gem. Pick it up and use Trent's easy going yet penetrating style to help bring all your non-Catholic buddies into the Church.

4. Building a Bridge by Fr. James Martin, SJ

Am I putting this book on the list for high level trolling or because I think Fr. James is cool for writing this book? You may never know. But, give him a vote if you like it (either ironically or un-ironically).

There are your nominees. Let's duke it out to see who gets the honor!

Head on over to Twitter to cast your vote!
