3rd Annual #PatronSaintOfHip

For the third year in a row, we are proud to bring you our Patron Saint of Hip award here at The Catholic Hipsters Weblog!

Our previous two votes have ended with Blesseds taking home the crown, including our inaugural winner Blessed James Alberione and last year's winner Blessed Chiara Badano.

This time around we took to Catholic Twitter to get our list of nominees, and without further babbling on my part, let's do this!

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati

I mean, you can't really have a hipster saint contest without Pier Giorgio Frassati, right? He's young, loved playing practical jokes on his friends, and was known for the powerful quote "Charity is not enough; we need social reform".

Don Bosco

This Italian priest and educator is kind of a big deal with the kids. He dedicated his life to the betterment of society and education for disadvantaged youth and his influence continues on to this day.

I mean, really, there's nothing I can say about JP2. He is THE Catholic Hipster, and all hipsterdom within Catholicism is mirrored after him. I can't imagine he doesn't take this title and run with it.

St. Joan of Arc

Talk about a badass saint. Joan of Arc is the model of brave young Catholicism. She had visions, heard the voice of the Heavenly Host, and did more in her 19 years of life than most of us could ever dream of.

Alright folks, who are you going to crown as the winner of our 3rd Annual Patron Saint of Hip?

Head on over to Twitter and let the voting begin!
