Why My Oldest Son Will Grow Up A Saints Fan

Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Prompt Succor...and it's also my oldest son's sixth birthday!

He's going to be a New Orleans Saints fan, and here's the story that explains why...

We were attending a little parish in Orange County at the time we had our first child. It was St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Irvine, and it was manned by the Norbertines from St. Michael's Abbey, out in the Silverado area.

The Norbertines are flat our amazing, and if you ever get a chance to hear a homily, go to confession, or go to the Divine Office at their place, DO IT!

One of the Norbertines who we were close to was a native of New Orleans, and he was overjoyed when he heard about our son being born on January 8.

He told us the story of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, which we had never heard before.

It's pretty awesome, and you can read more about it here.

Because of that, and in spite of me being a Rams fan, we have planned ever since to convince our son to grow up as a fan of the New Orleans Saints.

Will it happen? Only time will tell...

Geaux Saints!
