Starting the Catholic Hipster of the Year Conversation

In the spirit of starting things way before it's time to start things, today we open the conversation for the Second Annual Wojtys!

The Wojtys are our Catholic Hipster of the Year Award, and this year the award is going to have a special twist!

On December 22, 2014, this website started, and it started with a bang.

Mostly because we kicked things off with the Catholic Hipster of the Year Award, affectionately known as the Wojtys in honor of the original Catholic Hipster, St. Pope John Paul II.

That award, which eventually led to my first and only interview on the Son Rise Morning Show, ended with Anna Mitchell being crowned as the Catholic Hipster of the Year 2014 after a last second barrage of the ballot box.

As we near the end of 2015, it is getting closer and closer to the time for us to launch our second annual Catholic Hipster of the Year contest, and this year we're having a bit of a fun twist.

Instead of leaving it up to me to decide the nominees, we're going to let the current title holder, Anna Mitchell, pick the nominees that you will all be able to vote on.

And, in the spirit of starting celebrations way before they should actually start, we're flinging open the doors today, to allow you to make suggestions to Anna Mitchell on who should be nominated to carry on the crown she has so proudly worn for the last year.

Hit her up on Twitter @MorningAnna, and use the hashtag #Wojtys2016 to promote your picks. As we get closer to voting time, Anna will release her official selections!
