Leo Was Called Great Before It Was Cool...

There are plenty of Popes who have lived a life worthy of being called "The Great".

The original Catholic Hipster, Pope John Paul The Great, obviously comes to mind.

But today we celebrate the first such man to earn that title: Pope Leo the Great!

Not only is he a Doctor of the Church, but he also famously met with Attila the Hun in 452 and persuaded him to turn away from marching through and invading Italy.

He was also succeeded by Pope Hilarius, which is awesome, and somewhat hilarious.

Pope Leo the Great, pray for us!
