Obscure Saint of the Day: St. Monegundis

My dearest Catholic hipsters, welcome to July!

And...Happy Feast of St. Monegundis!

Monegundis was a hermitess in Tours.

She was married, but after her daughters died she received permission from her husband to remove herself from the world and delve more deeply into a life of prayer and meditation.

Monegundis died in 570.

Many miracles were reported to have occurred at her tomb.

St. Monegundis, pray for us.
