Obscure Saint of the Day: St. Petronax

Hope you Catholic Hipsters have healed up well from your Cinco de Mayo celebrations, because...

It's the feast of St. Petronax!!

Petronax became a Benedictine in 717 and was later asked by Pope St. Gregory himself to go and resurrect the destroyed abbey of Monte Cassino.

He followed the Pope's orders, became the Abbot, and made it a great institution once again.

St. Petronax died in 747.

St. Petronax, pray for us.
