Obscure Saint of the Day: St. Elgiva of Shaftesbury

It's May 18, and we know that can only mean one thing:

Happy Feast of St. Elgiva of Shaftesbury!

Elgiva was a Queen and Mother to King Edwy of the Saxons and King Edgar of England.

She gave everything up to become a Benedcitine nun.

St. Elgiva died in 944.

St. Elgiva of Shaftesbury, pray for us!
